I am looking for folks who know the best beginner caves in the N./Central California Region. I have a full schedual most of the time, but I would love to take a day off and do some serious caving.

Re: Cavers in N. Cal. ?
Fri, December 23, 2005 - 10:36 AMHey Jeff - thanks for posting!
I've never been to California - so I'm not familiar with the caves there - but I'd suggest getting in contact with one of the local grottos for more information. The National Speleological Society (NSS) has a list here:
www.caves.org/io/iolookup.php
Check out their main page for other info:
www.caves.org/
The National Park Service's website might have some helpful stuff too:
www.nps.gov/
Good luck and let us know what you find - take some pictures if you're able and post them here!!! THANKS!
BE SAFE AND HAVE FUN!

Mon, April 14, 2008 - 7:54 PMHey LiaBear! Start a new thread with the area you're looking to meet people in as the title... hopefully that'll entice some locals to check in and respond.
Best of luck!

Sun, May 11, 2008 - 7:47 AMLava Beds National Monument by Medicine Lake has over 400 lava tube caves. That's where I'm planning to go sometime this summer.
